Ice Sheet Velocity Map

SHIVER provides interactive and programmatic access to a compilation of satellite-derived ice velocity data for the Greenland Ice Sheet and Antarctic Ice Sheet.

The primary aim of SHIVER is to maximise access to ice velocity measurements of Earth’s ice sheets whilst minimising researcher and educator time spent on data curation, allowing them to focus on discovery. To achieve this aim, we have compiled many existing satellite-derived velocity datasets into a ‘Unified Dataset’ of ice velocity for each ice sheet. Access to these data are provided in two ways:

  • Programmatic access via Source Cooperative: https://source.coop/uos-shiver

These notebooks provide our motivation for producing SHIVER and a series of examples documenting programmatic access to the data.
